DESCRIPTION
Repair of a slope failure under a 2.5m diameter Metro Vancouver welded steel watermain.
OUR ROLE
Following storm damage from an atmospheric river, North planned and executed instream remediation works at Talon Creek in the Seymour watershed. Through proactive planning and coordinated execution, crews established steep-slope access to safely reach the toe of the slide and manage creek flows. The creek channel was carefully sub-excavated and rebuilt with engineered rock to create a stable foundation for a large gabion basket repair structure. North crews then installed and backfilled the gabion basket retaining system, successfully restoring slope support and protecting the Metro Vancouver water utility, while delivering the work on schedule and within budget.
